Thread: gnome panels empty and not responding

hello,

i'm using pure ubuntu 9.10. i've got following problem. playing panels, , added hiding 1 top add icons it.

unfortunately both default top panel (the 1 tray , menu) , new 1 became hidden , when put cursor near edge both of them went visible , right invisible again. trying click them right button, , got properties menu of panel.

unfortunately window stopped responding. closed it, rebooted, , have 1 top panel, 1 bottom panel nothing on them. neither left-click nor right-click shows reaction. same situation when logging failsafe gnome.

i've explored gnome folders in home directory , found nothing interesting (no configuration files mentioning position or other atributes of panels).

thinking of reinstalling/reconfiguring gnome-panel overcome this, netroot shell not connected if in range of wifi network.

have ideas how bring responding panels desktop?

don't know reinstalling them, restore them factory settings:and have tried alt+f2 >> sudo killall gnome-panels
