Thread: 2G ipod shuffle in gtkpod

have had problems getting new ipod shuffle work-looked few things, tried both amarok , banshee - no joy.

managed transfer music ipod using gtkpod (best far) , dragging , dropping, wouldn't play unless plug itunes (on windows laptop) first.

so, restored factory settings, copied music across in gtkpod, still wouldn't play, plugged itunes again. worked. added 1 more album, in gtkpod, , it's not playing again. put in itunes. plays. , gtkpod doesn't seem @ all, saying:

extended information file '/media/ipod/ipod_control/itunes/itunesdb.ext'
gtkpod try match information using sha1 checksums. may take long time.

ipod database import failed: 'itunesstats file ('/media/ipod/ipod_control/itunes/itunesstats'): entry length smaller expected (0<18).'

newly mounted ipod @ '/media/ipod' not loaded gtkpod.


2 things. it's newish 1 - 2gb, , not listed in options - maybe there's different it doesn't like. banshee came message version new supported.

- maybe there's i'm missing understanding commands playing , synchronising - being of newbie.

however, working without having resort windows. there out there can me.
