read ethernet booting of rpi, , got interested it. goal have info screen system several rpi 3s attached hdmi screens/televisions. thought preparing 1 sd card , cloning each screen. use ethernet booting instead, drawbacks in use case? @ least i'd avoid corrupted sd cards.
i'd use chromium show specific url in each screen. however, url different in every screen. how work ethernet boot? have keep separate image every rpi in ethernet booting server?

you need bootable sd card burn/enable netbooting , once. after can "pure"
netbooting without other media , using ethernet cable.
configuration , each pi has serial number each pi request customized config file
based on that. should trivial implement (famous last words ...).
