Thread: Upgrade 9.04 to 9.10 Get Imminent Disk Failure

i have been using ubuntu 9.04 little while no problems. tried upgrade 9.10. on first boot imminent disk failure. tried clean install... same error. know why 9.04 runs great & 9.10 gives me issue? changed??

unfortunately, there seem more , more reports of 9.10 claiming disk errors and/or failing drives -- when neither case.

suggest boot livecd of 9.04 , run fsck on partitions. if reports no errors (as suspect will), yet of victims of "false positive" reporting 9.10.

also, if want higher comfort level, go website of hard drive manufacturer. have downloadable diagnostic tools. if so, download , run see if tools report disk problems. guess tools find drive being ok.
