Multiple Speakers Feasibility and sound files

so egr class has been contacted local natural history museum build exhibits new wing. our exhibit team has decided build dinosaur foot print comparison platform. etching glass lit leds give cool light effect. have written , tested code 4 buttons light 4 different footprints making. next step incorporate speakers when kids press buttons speaker play dinosaurs associated sound.roar file.

the bit of research did shows need sd card , sd card arduino converter. sound files need in .wav , there codes out there if button pressed play sound file a. need more 1 arduino uno , external power supplies should consider... , second year engineering student have not learned playing audio files yet new territory me. when connecting speakers power sources need special resistors or can connect them standard resistors in circuit?

the arduino couldn't handle .wav file.  can basic square wave tones, not produce sound.  require external hardware.  there shields play wav files can connected arduino. 

here's example might wait more experience these shields me see if that's best choice.
