in workflow process designer have selected several search fields used workflow server. when log workflow server , select search , select process, see search custom fields selection box , can select search fields indicated available. however, no search results regardless of search in these fields. ideas?

how did define custom search fields? there 2 concepts advanced search fields:
one allows select fields initiation form, , automatically stored in database, making values searchable under "search work items satisfying search key field conditions" header in advanced search criteria. - appears if have defined fields process map.
i have used method frequently, , can verify work.
the other - using custom fields referred in search criteria under heading "search work items satisfying custom field conditions", have never used, , @ moment cannot remember set search values in. heading appears every time, regardless of added definitions may have or have not done.
