possible sunrise simulator project.

anyone have experience controlling dmx dimmer devices? new arduino development after doing initial research looks there dmx shields , libraries available along external clock hardware.

the initial plan create program bring lights in morning minimal dimming level 100% on set period of time. 30 minutes or so. after couple hours turn off light(s) until next daily cycle. want stable clock source doesn't need reset why thinking of using external source.

i thinking of trying control this: http://www.amazon.com/american-dp-415-channel-dimmer-pack/dp/b000fvzumm/ref=sr_1_1?ie=utf8&qid=1444444549&sr=8-1&keywords=dmx+dimmer

it overkill not comfortable trying own power electronics project.

concerning stable clock sources:  there several rtc chips out there depend on external crystal timing.  if crystal stays @ same temperature, clock uniform.  believe can buy such crystals in own little "oven" such source.

if can attach whole thing internet, adafruit cc3000 unit, can fetch in internet time , have reliably accurate time.  similary if add gps unit it, each of alternatives pricey.
