Thread: Internet connection through GPRS in 9.10

hello,

reasons cannot use other connection gprs. so... use samsung sgh-e200 mobile phone connected usb data-cable desktop computer.

i've installed ubuntu 9.10 , i've got proplems establishing connection internet. right after installation chose

system -> network connections -> mobile broadband -> add

chose parameters gprs connection (dial number - *99#, apn - active (for operator jeans, ukraine). use same parameters under windows , ubuntu 9.04 , works pretty well.

when i'm trying establish connection says me:

gsm network
disconnected - offline

first thought use wvdial, bit old-fashioned yet reliable way connect. though doesn't go on cd.

in /var/log/daemon.log file found following:

question is: possible @ establish gprs connection in ubuntu 9.10 via network manager or should go 9.04?

in advance.

i've got same problem.
use samsung mobile connected using usb cable acer aspire 6530g laptop.
9.04 works fine. never got problem.
9.10 same behaviour you.
few days ago installed opensuse 11.2 gnome desktop (and same network manager applet, think) , works. (i've got 9.04, 9.10 , opensuse on same laptop)
discovered if connect when in suse, restart ubuntu 9.10 , trying connect... connects!
don't know why...
