hi , in time christmas releasing free beta of music related software raspberry pi 2b , pi 3+ computers. including on 20 royalty free christmas tunes have worked on adding chords on lyrics , converting them on pichordoke format.
have been writing software our band can use , want others able check out well. based our need organizing , editing songs in our collection of 500+. have been downloading them on last several years internet. chordie.com, must say, since have nice site large database of songs ( can tranpose songs different keys ). discovered music format use called chordpro helps align chords lyrics. have added in software work formatting speeds converting songs on pichordoke.
songs saved in pichordoke saved html file can later used webpage or printed out , etc .
xml metadata file created each song used in pichordoke , doesn't need included song&lyrics html file (when use them other programs). pichordoke teleprompter beta software writing uses metronome set number of beats played on each line of lyrics. should keep musicians in time music scrolls down on each beat, keeping rhythm going. have added in jukebox window allows users select groups of tunes can save them later playback.
there couple of experimental areas have written cover music timing , small bit of guitar tablature .(writing own font using fontforge task in itself!!) . redesigning these areas done in 3d (open gl es) , learning curve process steep since pi has included support developing 3d. bear these sections since shouldn't interfere overall performance of pichordoke teleprompter.
can hook multiple cheap hdmi tvs give each player own monitors can read chords , lyrics on . our test tv small free one, @ walmart equivalent 1 less than$100 , 2 or 3 small monitors not big expense small garage band. raspberry pi great way carry around our collection of 500+ tunes ,and pichordoke job of displaying them quite well.
