Thread: Software for writing scientific papers?

hello all:

wondering if of have come across software writing scientific papers. @ conference , suggested text block writer, runs under windows.

i've writen science papers call modular-writing. tend write tid-bits of information while reading papers, talking friends or collegues. these ideas pop head. crude , require lots of editing before adding them paper. others come out of ether formatted paragraphs , can included paper immediately. these information snippets, until now, have been in single file (text file) , moving them around "master document" involves lot of copy-paste. idea of text-block-writer, ideas handled notes or cards. fact can order them , export them single threaded , cohesive work... wonderful

don{t know if guys write same way, maybe because english not first language (as have noticed) writing scientific papers scratch seems unsurmountable task. sectioning work has seemed better way of doing things.

suggestions on ubuntu software may match writing style?
in advance.

camp.

for me, there latex, should work style. example, wrote thesis in separate .tex files , called them in main document in correct order. don't know field you're in, physics, using latex revtex templates or occasional latex templates waste of time , effort.
