Stalled and Retry (a bug?)

there 2 approver tasks in process
(both initial participant hard-coded user accounts),

before initiating process,
the 2nd approver deleted (using adminui, user management).

so, when form got routed him, stalled (expected behavior).

then modified process map,
and assigned existing user account 2nd user task.

then went adminui, process management, stalled items,
selected stalled item, , clicked "retry"...

but unexpectedly, process did not 2nd approver task,
it moved on , completed workflow if 2nd approver had processed task already.

isn't bug?

i pretty sure livecycle-7 or 6 did not this, because have done retry dozens of times. have put workitem 2nd approver's queue.

if es doesn't put workitem task stalled, what's "retry" button for?

thanks
james

the retry should send new (updated) user.

i ran quick test here didn't assign user user step. @ point stalled. added valid user user step , hit retry button process management/stalled operations (from adminui) , task sent updated user.

i'm not sure went wrong in case, should work.
