Changing master pages from a spread to two different pages (L & R)

hi, perplexed...

i laid out document in spread, , i've converted single pages according printer's request, can't left , right master pages show when make pdf or print.

i think i'm on right track, can't understand instruction in help:

"choose master options [master name] in pages panel menu."

the palettes pop out menus @ right, aren't they? think i'm in right place, can't figure out how change master options - or find pages panel menu. hope can point me in right direction.

cheers

when laid out document spread, saying put both panels onto single page in indesign, or used "facing pages" layout?

using facing pages recommended procedure each page isolated it's neighbor, appear on pasteboard in reader's spread pairs easy layout visualization. facing pages layout default starts two-page master page spread, can make many others like, many pages need. if that's you've got, don't understand problem printer having, unless he's saying wants individual pdf each page (not unheard of, not common in modern workflows), or tried save him time exporting spreads can't use.

pdfs can broken apart in acrobat, , believe there script floating around here on forums can used export multipage document individual pdf files.

on other hand, if example, making newsletter folded 8.5 x 11, , laid out on 11 x 17 page, have larger problem. master page options won't here (you can set number of pages in master spread in options, each 1 full size of page, in case 11 x 17, , need 8.5 x 11 pages). you'll need make new document correct page size (facing pages), copy elements each half of pages in original , "paste in place" in new doc. pasting in place may not give correct positioning on first , last pages (stuff wind on pasteboard, instead) because of how indesign handles coordinates, still selected can go x: coordinate field of control panel , either add or subtract page width value listed (just type + or - , number after what's there) move things page width left or right.

finally, if want to, can select page in pages panel , menu select "save master" use model new master page. facing page spread need first select spread, uncheck "allow spread shuffle" menu, , pull pages apart individual page icons.

you can edit new master page remove non-master elements, redefine document non-facing pages, , apply appropriate new master each page. waste of time, in book. regular facing pages document should fine.
