i have 3 hds. 1.) windoes 7 64bit installed.. 2.)used backup files. 3.) empty 40gb hd.
want install 9.10 32 bit on #3. formated ntfs.
in installation process got far drive install to, picked /dev/sdc1 40024 mb, got error message "no root file system defined. please correct partitioning menu".
re-format drive ext4?
9.10 make correct partitions needs installation?
installing on separate drive, opposed side-by-side, still dual boot in mbr?
help.

reformat hard drive 3.
use ext 3 now. ext 4 has bugs.
create swap partition twice size of ram.
create root partition of 10 gigs , use rest home
ubuntu should install fine on drive.
