Does the presence of a file indicate a "supported" MCU in the IDE?

you not going reading this, playing old at90s8515 mcu.
i have working in 1.6.5 ide.

there io8515.h file part of package , supported in avrdude.conf

does make "supported" mcu?

to explain reason query, stuck @ compiling serial support, can monitor output com port connected to.

is possible without extensive work enable serial chip?

is question arduino team or community question in general?

the answer question "if mcu supported arduino" large no there no boards that.

if question "could arduino avr core ported mcu" answer yes. "extensive work" depends on experience of avr , arduino/wiring source code.
