Conservative overclock settings for Pi 3 B? - Raspberry Pi Forums

g'day.

i'm running retropie on new pi 3 model b, , boinc during gaming downtime. i'd wee bit more performance in n64 emulation, , cannot hurt process seti@home work units faster, eh? don't want go overboard. , don't want void warranty. killing first ever pi bit disappointing. know it's cheap-as, still. want play conservatively first pi overclock.

so, can suggest solid , modest overclock settings /boot/config.txt file (i assume that's need change? okay via ssh pi while it's running?), please? helpful be, say, 1 step base speeds, , couple steps up. despite running copper cpu heatsink , 3cm fan, don't want go crazy here. not @ first, , not without backup unit on hand, anyway.

i'm asking here of more modest sample overclock settings see online either earlier pi models, or people wanting go fast possibly can on pi 3. plus note raspbian overclock config tool doesn't support pi 3. makes me tad nervous leap in , try stuff.

assuage fears, entreat you! want bold, plan bold. i'm not quite there, yet :-)

i'm sure there reason raspi-config saying "this pi cannot overclocked" - expect tears!
