How do I add a parameter to content items and categories? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hello.  i'm working on bridge vbulletin , joomla , next section of project comment module allows vbulletin act comment holder. make work planning on letting user choose forum associate category and/or choose thread associate content item (especially necessary static content items have no categories).  i'd present user drop down list of forums rather ask them , plug in id.

i place associated forum or thread parameter - i.e. $params->get('vbforum'); return forum id associated category or $params->get('vbthread'); return thread.

with in place set mambot display comments appropriate thread associated content item (the thread content item automatically created when first post made).  know hook locations in vbulletin necessary update joomla content item id of thread associated it.
