Thread: 9.10 - new grub, does supergrub disk still work now?

i want install distribution in set of partitions , have option boot ubuntu or it, little concerned considering changes grub. since there no longer menu.lst , instead built on fly, 1 of super grub disks still work if hose booting? new grub find new os automatically? i'm concerned other distribution isn't yet on grub2 , afraid install write on mbr giving me mess.

have advice on adding operating system on same system ubuntu 9.10 (it's linux distro, not windows) since 9.10 has grub2 or whatever it's called?

in advance!

dave

your new os should pick ubuntu.

if not, there no need go 3rd party apps. not ms dealing with.

restore grub2 mbr follow these instructions using 9.10 livecd;

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/grub2#recove...20via%20livecd

when instruction "edit file" ignore it. want the"update-grub" , "grub-install" parts.

when see menu next time shuld have new os on because ran "update-grub"

read link in sig.
