Thread: openoffice downgrade

hi folks!
upgraded ubuntu 9.1. many of know, there annoying bug in openoffice 3.1, occurs when 1 using subscripts or superscripts in impress ( http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=106609 ). makes impress unusable purposes.

question is, best way downgrade openoffice version in ubuntu 9.04? adding 9.04 repositories current ones? or perhaps wiping out entire openoffice , installing latest version sun (it doesn't have bug). sort of tried latter on computer running 9.04 openoffice keeps crashing.

insights? lot!

have tried reset ooo user profile? don't transfer personal data during welcome process (if had 2.x before), configuration files former version might corrupt new profile.

sun version has worked fine on xubuntu boxes.
