i picked raspberry pi ups board (eleduino raspberry pi backup battery, https://amzn.com/b01llj2010) , 600 mah lithium polymer battery. tried plug in battery ups board's female battery connector , though didn't fit board's leds lit when metal parts of connectors touched. made mistake of thinking connector might physically fit securely if turn battery connector 180 degrees, when jammed connectors smoke puffed , in panic dropped both battery , board. unfortunately in cowardice didn't notice whether battery or board produced smoke. figure out item produced smoke , damaged attached board (without battery) raspberry pi , raspberry pi booted , ran fine , ups board's led stayed lit throughout. detached board pi , connected battery board again (the original way when led lit up) , led didn't light time. @ point i'm still confused item produced smoke , damaged , needs replaced. ideas?
i imagine smoke escaped ups board, 1 of battery side components wouldnt preveng pi running on mains power.
