i work in web team organisation sap house. know our sap team embarking on adopting netweaver in meantime have business units asking evaluate , adopt livecycle.
how similar 2 products? can exist in same environment or 1 negate need other ?

the products different. in nutshell...
- sap runs business.
- lc form processing , workflow.
they different things.
they in fact complementary, , adobe , sap have strong relationship, both @ business level , technical level. sap ship adobe form designer in netweaver, , ship (and license use) number of pdf form templates in standard forms can use. however, if want develop own forms, need expertise in livecycle, , need pay additional licensing fees.
sap not known easy-to-use user-interfaces. idea can create more usable , familiar interface netweaver product using intelligent pdf form front-end sap backend processes.
both sap , adobe have products called "workflow", serve different purposes - adobe workflow product fledged user-oriented business process management system, whereas sap workflow (as understand it) more way of calling several bapis in sequence.
