Thread: Cannot select correct screen resolution with

hi!

i've installed ubuntu 9.10 on media center - works fine except screen resolution.

need resolution of 1176x664 fit on screen closest option 1200x800.

i've installed recommended nvidia drivers , looked xrandr , xorg config file (which doesn't exist , cannot created using sudo xorg -configure)

can please help? i'm desperate!!

what actual or supported resolution of monitor or display? may depend upon video modes card , driver support.

older actual 1280x720 27" hdtv supports hdtv modes or pc video modes (up 1280x1024) on older pc, x in 9.10 defaulted odd 1152x864 4:3 mode. offered 1360x768 mode surprised works hdtv. in case ati agp card, used default drivers , have not installed restricted or proprietary driver it.
