hello, have had problems finding answer need through search, i'm hoping able help!
i have list of items similar to:
12345-123 abc text description here
98765-457 xyz text description here
etc.
i have 15 total items.
i user select drop down , see full description of items have available choose. however, after they've selected it, want first 9 letters/numbers of description show in field. field must allowed overwritten user.
also, when tried putting in longer description in drop down list, viewable length limited width of original box. possible view full description of item without extending original drop-down list box?
i not familiar writing scripts or that, help/explanation provided appreciated!

im using designer 8 , when selected , field set, can scroll through field , see whole text..
or when place cursor on top of each option, can see whole text (without having click on anything)
