5v incandescent bulbs: transistor needed?

hey guys!
after searching on interwebs several days, can't find answer project question. thought i'd might try on here ;-)

for rc truck, i'm building all-around-light. best scale/time period looking result comes 5v micro incandescent light bulbs.

in many diagrams there's 12v bicycle lightbulb connected transistor. since i'm not upping needed dc voltage, still need transistors safely run sequence?

you cannot use arduino pin directly power bulb.
just use same circuit use 5v supply.
it might best logic type mos fet switching.
