Powersupply for raspberry - Raspberry Pi Forums

hi,

have bought switched-mode power supply: meanwell rs-50-5 (see https://www.meanwell-web.com/en/product ... ct/rs-50-5), in order power rpi other devices.
can power directly micro usb? gpio?
have use voltage regulator between powersupply , rpi? one: d15v70f5s3 (see https://www.pololu.com/product/2111)? or else (why not if cheaper!)?

please note question regarding use of type of power supply power rpi: switched-mode power supply.

thank you

if power supply produces 5v ±0.25v @ 2.5a , meanwell device apparently does, can used power pi through micro-usb socket.
instead power through gpio header, bypass fuse, lose protection.

switch-mode supplies more efficient linear ones, , prefered, linear ones work.

i've been trying think of supply neither switch-mode nor linear. best can come bicycle dynamo attached, , voltage-sensing device attached whip - when voltage drops below 4.75v, sprocket engages whip, , beats pedaller on behind.
