hoo boy. i'm trying upgrade jaunty karmic, process seems have gotten stuck. it's gotten xulrunner-1.9.1, it's been supposedly configuring 45 minutes without accessing hard drive (no hard drive light flicker or hard drive access noises).
expanding terminal view doesn't help. claims setting up, it's been stuck there without remotely resembling error message or progress. bar says has hour , 2 minutes remaining, , has said ever since hit xulrunner.
idea how extract myself situation?
update: never mind, found couple of threads got me through this. ugly solution... ctrl-c skip particular bit of upgrade, manually delete offending program, reboot in recovery mode , let auto-install offending program without whatever stumbling block gui throwing in way. it's gravy, now. brain cycles dedicated solving problem. @ least got mental exercise.
