as may have noticed, edubuntu project have been going through big changes recently. have been working on ubuntu community council while have edubuntu council reasonable size (5 members).
that’s why, today, announcing there election new edubuntu council members. jordan mantha resigning edubuntu council position due time constraints new job. 2 remaining members, jonathan carter , stéphane graber running re-election.
how election work:
- first week (#47, next week), we’ll taking candidatures on following wiki page: https://wiki.edubuntu.org/edubuntu/council/election
- on week after (#48), ubuntu community council setup vote edubuntu-members asked vote , choose 5 candidates want edubuntu council members.early on week after (#49), 5 new edubuntu council members announced ubuntu community council , added launchpad team.
during election process, current edubuntu council remains is.
ubuntu members able make nominations adding https://wiki.edubuntu.org/edubuntu/council/election or propose candidate anonymously contacting edubuntu council member add person wiki page. edubuntu council forward list of nominees community council.
community council set vote edubuntu members , announce results of election. in case new edubuntu council member not edubuntu member, receive edubuntu membership concurrently. edubuntu council elections occur anually, existing members may re-apply.
