Another SEF Problem- trying to uninstall makes things worse - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
going try make long story short... site http://www.blet282.com has been working fine month or two. installed joomsef , although worked on of site can not working smf forum or gallery2 (without manually creating links every post or pic or album... work) , few other minor components, oh , "problem" google (see http://forum.joomla.org/index.php/topic,174434.0.html )
decided not use until learn more or better version came out. problem when disable seo (in preparation uninstall joomsef) areas of site no longer function (especially gallery2). urls in site have x-tra index.php notes in them (ie http://www.mysite.com/index.php/index.p ... ?option....) when turn sef on the urls correct , work again.
so can leave sef on , deal other problems (and whatever new ones arise) or disable , uninstall , possibly crash site (at least gallery)... not >:(
oh yeah.. because know you'll ask, when refer turning sef on or off, these steps follow- disabled , saved in joomsef, disabled seo , saved in global , changed .htaccess htaccess.txt -->then opposite turn on.
the thing can hope right url problem "conflict" having joomsef installed not enabled , uninstalling correct problem (not hoping much, huh). no way try though without input of may have ran similar problems.
any ideas appreciated! -joomla , components current versions aquired , installed within last 60 days. joomsef current patched version kanga.
