Thread: Issues with pdfs and their thumbnails(?) in nautilus

the problem:

folders (specifically, documents folder) containing large pdfs not display pdfs; folder continues load. note these files appear if moved desktop.

the workaround:

sudo nautilus trick. if browse documents folder super user privileges, pdfs appear instantly. there can cut , paste them onto desktop, appear instantly.

issue here? thumbnail generator? nautilus? evince (it leaks memory)?

there's nautilus preference setting maximum size files generate thumbnails for.

since works root (by way, should use gksu instead of sudo run graphical apps) , not you, , these settings set on per user basis, seems cause.
