Problems with color from Photoshop to InDesign CS2?

hi all,

couple of questions:

when select "proof colors" "view", color changes little bit. normal?

also, on "view", "proof setup", 1 should select "document cmyk" or "working cmyk" or other "custom"

thanks help,

alex

>when select "proof colors" "view", color changes little bit. normal?

it's not abnormal, depend on color spaces objects in , color space choose proof.

you have lot of choices how set color management. leave settings set common situation, sheetfed coated , adobe rgb, if have special job can reassign document color space (notice said assign, not convert, in order preserve native object color numbers). can proof color in either working cmyk (the 1 in color settings) document cmyk (if that's different) or else entirely if repurposing existing document new output method.

when proof colors, indesign calculates conversions on fly , displays results. rgb objects show shifting due gamut differences, type , degree depend on rendering intent specify. cmyk objects tend not show shifting because gamuts closer, again depend on exact profiles , intents. objects in chosen proofing space should not show shift @ all.

there caveat here regarding working in 1 space , outputting in another: if want colors close possible converting new profile, necessity change color numbers match appearance. not problem things photographs, other things, type, created 100% k can converted four-color mix not good. if know output conditions, recommend setting document cmyk space when start.
