little background. i've had rpi3 raspian in 1 i2s microphone mockup. hasn't got screen nor keyboard, it's been turned off unplugging power cord.
anyho needed tinker config, , noticed cannot login (previously had autologin on) , keyboard locale seems incorrect , there's no default user name visible. if enter login screen blinks black 3 seconds , login screen active again (no incorrect password warning). i've edited cmdline.txt , followed password recovery protocol:

seems login credentials aren't problem.
if enter recovery menu "sift"-key during boot, keyboard locale shown correctly. mmc should ok (run fsck utility in ubuntu mounted mmc).
question here twofold:
1. problem in login screen config. there lock files or might cause this?
2. if there's no easy fix on login screen, possible run sort of recovery installation raspian settings & installed stuff stay i've set them? tried googling not success. , didn't make notes on setup -> take ages setup system :/.
