this subject has led pretty heated discussion on adafruit's support forums couple of years now, , i'm posting here because i'm not sure if pi foundation aware of it. adafruit has several years discontinued shipping via usps of united states, preferring more expensive ups instead. fine people purchase larger items or make large orders; however, orders of pi 0 limited 1 per customer, , while u.s. postal service ship them around $2.50 $3.00, if adafruit offered option, ups shipping pi 0 close $9, double cost of pi 0 itself. , since adafruit u.s. distributor of pi zero, means impossible pi 0 in u.s. @ price pi foundation intended, unless lucky enough live near 1 of few stores carries them. has created practically cottage industry of selling pi 0 on ebay , amazon @ prices anywhere $15-25. adafruit's decision make ups shipper has priced pi 0 high market intended for; in same price range, there better alternatives.
adafruit has stubbornly ignored many complaints many potential customers quite time , isn't interested in dealing problem because focused on bulk orders. can confirm browsing through support forums. alternative needed.

i love to.. have decades old web shop selling hobby electronics, , have shipped usps. light items can't beat cost of first class mail. wonder why adafruit stopped offering usps.
have asked few times stocking zero.. have yet receive response. i'm guessing there not enough of them go around (still?) , not enough profit/motivation seek distributor.
