Thread: Karmic on Macbook Pro 5,5: Minor Problems

hi,

i'm running ubuntu 9.10 on macbook pro 5,5 works great except:

- indicator applet in gnome panel choosing suspend/hibernate result in activation of screensaver instead of s2ram/s2disk. however, triggering s2ram manually form bash works. followed scripts extend battery running time (latop-mode, 99-savings), maybe there went wrong mapping?

- pressing f1 dimming screen brings "shut down computer screen". can use power manager bright applet in gnome panel dim down, after maxing brightness using f2. correct mapping?

how did install things? dual booting? ask because couldn't grub bit work installing karmic directly (i have mbp5,5). had install 9.04 first , upgrade.

other curiosity don't have same problem dimming :s can use f keys intended. if hold down fn first? if works can change mode of f keys

oh - did set keyboard layout 'macintosh'? have selected gb - macintosh kb type.
