DS3231 - No Alarm when powered Off. Why?

hi dudes,

this first post in arduino forum hope right 

i have ds3231 rtc alarm set. when disconnect 5v vcc alarm don't works. need rtc or similar wake arduino sleep. project need low power because powered battery pack (4xaa ~4.8v).

i need setup alarm or more (i need 3 wake daily programmable) wake arduino deep sleep (power save). example:

08:00  wake --> sampling temparature, weight..etc --> sleep
14:00  wake --> sampling temparature, weight..etc --> sleep
19:00  wake --> sampling temparature, weight..etc --> send sms (gsm) --> sleep again

it's possible? rtc on arduino not work because during deep sleep stopped need external rtc very low consumption.

can me please? thank much...

p.s. have arduino mini pro 328p 5v/16mhz

none of rtcs i'm running ever stop when there no power arduino. need tell lot more hardware configuration, , circumstances in happening.

but connect rtc int/sq pin arduino interrupt pin, , enable wake sleep pin.

it's not clear whether have written software, or whether asking how write it.
