i running pi in classroom. there no internet pi webserver, connected router , picked student's smart phones. have set static address have ask students go http://192.168.1.88. feels messy , direct them address type "english.class" in address bar , directed pi webserver.
how this? perhaps dns config?

if rpi running avahi-daemon http://pi.local/ should "just work". tweak avahi-daemon config change second part of name. can change first part of name in sudo raspi-config (it uses hostname).
if doesn't work you'll need set dnsmasq or bind9 local dns server. interesting anyway.
