i started playing around electronics , arduino years ago intent on wanting build rgb christmas display. have never quite invested time figure out though. because complicated on own without asking help.
well i'm hoping put behind me. please give advise.
i want build christmas tree out of 10 vertical strands of rgb leds. each strand have 16 lights. each led need individually addressable. equals 480 channels total.
so start, should use address these? seems ton of shift registers @ 8 bit each.

you can buy led strip addressable electronics built-in. here's first 1 google found.
