HDMI To VGA and Avocent DSR8035 - Raspberry Pi Forums

i'm new convert world of raspberry pi , huge fan. have couple pi 3bs , couple of pi zeros i'm playing with.

i'm unix sys admin trade i'm pretty comfortable rasbian it's similar ubuntu machines use @ work.

@ work, want console pi's, don't want have plug in keyboard , monitor everytime need console pi. have avocent dsr8035 ipkvm. dsr8035 older hardware doesn't support hdmi dongles, i'm trying use hdmi vga converter. i've tested hmdi vga converter plugging new acer flat screen monitor , works fine. i've plugged vga dongle vintage vga device , works fine. however, when plug hmdi vga converter vga dongle i'm having problems. video display blinks on , off , screen flashes "no signal", blinks on, can see console, off again "no signal". it'll keep doing this.

read faq on pi site hdmi vga , have tried setting config.txt various recommended settings no avail. here specs of i'm using:

i'm hoping can give me clue need make work. i've tried many settings in config.txt, ones have active closest working. i've gone through possible choices config_hdmi_boost.

i'm willing consider ugreen not best chioce pi, bought because it's powered , others have said they've had success with pi.

well, i'm guessing there no solution me. i've tried can think of. i've made every configuration change can made, , i've tried several hdmi vga converters no change. best guess power output low pi converter. i've found other docs on avocents these devices have problems laptops well, best guess has power levels.
