Retaining changes and format of imported excel data.. please help.

is there kind of secret im mising out on allow me make changes data in excel cell range in import indesign document?

it working fine, until had add line of data import field range, , asks me every time open indesign file apply changes.. , when update said imported data, comes little red dots, , have change of cell parameters text show.

obviously annoying, , im hoping there easy solution. im thinking must involve re-linking data in indesign file, , must doing wrong not able keep changes i've made , format in not have "red dot" fix every day.

hopefully ive explained enough.. im dying :)

for current file, go links panel , select excel file.
flyout menu choose embed file. break link file.

in type preferences, uncheck create links when placing text ,
spreadsheet files.

to avoid in future files, no documents open, uncheck
preference.
