Thread: Is it just me? No bluetooth

let me start saying i'm total noob ubuntu , linux, i'm persistent.
can not bluetooth work. wiped windows os , went fresh install of netbook remix. have msi wind u100. can tell, tester never tested bluetooth functionality don't know if should working.
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/laptoptestingteam/msiwindu100

i've installed bluetooth analyzer , blueman. when have bluetooth icon set display , activate it, nothing discoverable shows up. when have set "only display when adapter present," goes away. assume there no adapter.

when try run bluetooth manager, error "connection bluez failed. bluez daemon not running, blueman-manager cannot continue.

google error , end couple of commands try:
sudo /etc/init.d/bluetooth restartthat 1 of them. i'm getting no errors when typed in still doesn't work.

guess ultimate question this: because i'm new this, close?
missing simple noob wouldn't know? got droid phone , want tether it. (by way, when atatch usb, phone registers connection, i'm allowed mount phone , battery starts charge, can't seem navigate ubuntu can other external drives)

guidance helpful
-thanks-

what output hciconfig?

if returns try running sudo bluetoothd -nd
else adapter not detected.
