Thread: Sound distortion/popping with Amarok

i'm getting awful sound distortion/popping amarok when playing mp3. no other application (dragon, audacious, audacity, smplayer). i'm not using pa plain alsa , whatever kubuntu karmic uses sound server. having similar problems amarok? there way fix other installing music player?

that none @ all; phonon (contrary popular misconception) abstraction layer ontop of sound api of choice (alsa, oss, pulse, ...).

can't wfm. take it's not hda power saving pops mean (upon playing sound after 10+ seconds of inactivity), pops throughout songs?
