Thread: Can't Restore Grub After WinXP Install

today re-installed winxp , typed following code restore grub:

sudo grub
find /boot/grub/stage1

second step produced (hd2,0). followed following:

root (hd2,0)
setup (hd2,0)
quit

after rebooting computer, no grub menu appeared had expected. computer booted xp. did wrong here? i'm running 9.04.

first off, not post such manner. not conducive help.
