i'm taring large file move on network via ssh. when tar command first started execute..

code:

nohup tar cvf music.tar music/&

running fast. .tar file 87g slowing down fast. there plenty of room left on disk. causing this?

now .tar file 87g slowing down fast. there plenty of room left on disk. causing this?

i not expert on tar, putting "gunk" in ram memory , causing tar creation/extraction , computer slow down.
