i duel booting windows 7 , ubuntu 9.10 , reason laptop seems run hotter in ubuntu windows. not 100 percent sure fan running. advice?

lm-sensors in synaptic. lmsensors

sudo apt-get install lmsensors

or

sudo apt-get install lm-sensors

to launch , show output >> sensors
