Thread: SSH Cannot bind to port

ok, use ssh tunnels, , long time i've used gstm manage these tunnels. however, recently, i've been having problems connects, tunnel isn't created because cannot bind port. if run things commandline

bind: cannot assign requested address

now, i've seen previous posts on matter, , 1 said /etc/networking/interfaces may have "iface lo inet loopback" commented out, or along lines. auto lo , iface line there. if use ifconfig put down lo, bring up, can create tunnel.

can fix this, short of kludge boot script cycles lo?

running kde4, kubuntu 9.10.
