i have had rpi2 year or , have had nothing frustration i'm used programming in other languages , can't head around linux system differences windows. lately i've been considering pulling out of drawer try make simple digital clock program old monitor have. think there kind of simple code out there somewhere can't find one.
possible without internet connection? network doesn't cooperate rpi , drops internet connection time, want bother if done offline....is possible?

what other languages ? pi supports many many programming languages , never know, ask here , might find available. common languages such c/c++, python etc included within raspbian standard. if language want obscure not available on pi, might better served learning more mainstream. can use knowledge everywhere.bshs_exp_dsgn wrote: i'm used programming in other languages

you can various rtc modules quite cheaply, battery backed, allow run without ntp. google "raspberry pi rtc". ntp (network time protocol) far more accurate , wont drift on time. if pi3 has built-in wifi easier move clock around.bshs_exp_dsgn wrote:so want bother if done offline....is possible?
