i using 9.10 (karmic koala) , there has been rather peculiar occurrence happens when boot system. after past glowing ubuntu logo , it's supposed go login screen...nothing happens. black screen. wait , wait , wait , nothing happens. have insert ubuntu cd, boot cd, select boot hard drive , boot ubuntu. works, it's annoying know what's wrong?
oh , here's thing. in empathy if i'm ever in of menu titles , buddy sends message while i'm still in menu, entire shell freezes. applications not freeze, cannot click on anything. have reboot, , black screen. that's 1 of times when occurs.
btw, sorry extremely bad writing. can write better this, swear. it's it's 1:42 in morning , have slight head cold.
maybe try recovery login , select fix-broken packages
