Stepper motor power

just quick question. picking stepper motors, confused @ voltage/current things running off.
ordering:
2 x stepper motor
2 x easydriver

this article says

so mean if got this plug 12v 1a , powered arduino power rail vin pin , safely supply easydrivers? , use 5v pin power else?
