hi all. can read did here @ post:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1322547
thought might have more luck tackling issue @ hand more concise thread. boot machine, grub, choose kernel, progress bar goes , , stops in middle, caps light starts flashing , that's it. hard boot way fix. run recovery , halts at:
help!code:begin: running /scripts/init-bottom run-init: /sbin/init : no such file or directory kernel panic - not syncing: attempted kill init!
can boot windows no problem , boot off livecd no problem know not hardware problem.
reinstall kernel? in livecd , fix something? wouldn't know start. have researched hours , there no fix or real explanation can find.
, suggestions appreciated getting desperate. can save files don't have time right (nor want) reinstall. must reasonably straight forward. have no clues.
