GARDEN_NET A distribuited garden control system.

i have large garden , have been developing, in last years, application control sprinklers , data temp/humidity sensors , without web remote control....
this done on standalone uno platform or without  ethernet shield.
i never thougth have been of general interest,
but working on putting devices  togever :

connecting   the unos create net control  different zones in garden.

main requirements should be:
              -to use distributed controllers located power available(max distance  100 mt)
              -to have devices connected hub connected ethernet
              -to power failure tolerant
              -to capable of control , acquisition of:
                 -temp humidity sensors
                 -position sensors
                 -power meters
                 -water flow meters
                 -solenoid 24v valves
                 -solenoid bi-stable 9v valves
                 ...................
              - control of areas power not available( remote control of bi-stable solenoid valves)
              - use cheap hw available on market
             
it may seam much..... in reality of functions have been implemented or on way...to implemented!

i want share need suggestions advice , participation!

i come detail questions on best way implement regarding:
              -how create network
              -best , cheapest hw solutions
              -already available similar devices (e.g. home automation)
