Thread: migrating from latex / texniccenter / miktex to ubuntu

beginner question!

i've been using miktex distribution of latex , texniccenter gui in windows. i'm migrating ubuntu 9.10 , unsure how proceed.

these windows distributions, what's easiest way them working ubder ubuntu? example use .tcp files "master" project files in texniccenter, appreciate gui understand this. or being silly?

do not switch ubuntu!!, if want serious work latex without being unix guru windows best option.
