Rs485 - system air

hi
i have balanced heat ventilation system in flat can controlled/monitored rs485.

i got wired nicely usb adapter  , started reading values it, gibberish:

гõu(uuÔ]uv]wwppýÕ °

i tried both baudrates given in manual, 9600/19200 how can to send meaningful values arduino, hex or something?


i never worked rs485 on thin ice here:)

how have got usb rs485 adaptor connected arduino (what model) , adaptor (links please).
the result looks baud rate problems if connected same pins used serial cause problems.
